Service To Humanity: Eleme Council Boss Bags Youth Friendly Award

The National Youth Councill of Nigeria (NYCN) Rivers State chapter has conferred an award of honor on the Executive Chairman of Eleme local government area, Hon. (Barr.) Philip Okparaji as the most Youth Friendly local government Chairman in the State.

Presenting the award to the Executive Chairman in presence of his Vice, Hon. Grace Osaronu and other top Council staff, Vice Chairman of the National Youth Councill of Nigeria, Amb. Brain Gokpa and other executives of the NYCN Rivers State, he stated that the Eleme Council Chairman was nominated alongside the Chairman of Ikwere LGA, Hon Samuel Nwanosike and Hon. Rowland Sekibo the Chairman of Asari Toru LGA for their outstanding performance in areas of Youth development, closeness to the grassroot, curbing of Youth restiveness and battling of insecurity.

Speaking, the NYCN Chairman of Rivers State, Amb Ihunwo Chijioke stressed that the NYCN do not confer awards except to deserving persons with proven track records in key areas adding that with the International Youth Day activities, the Rivers State Chapter of the NYCN decided to identify, recognize and honor the local government Chairmen who meet the criteria for the honor.

Meanwhile the Executive Chairman of Eleme LGA, Hon. (Barr.) Philip Okparaji has dedicated the award conferred on him to the Youths of Eleme thanking them for their cooperation and support adding that his commitment to quality delivery, constant Youth engagement and empowerment remain unchanged.

He stressed that with the conferment of awards from notable entities who are watching and taking notes of his performance and activities including the federal government, student groups, the Christian Association of Nigeria and now the National Youth Councill of Nigeria, he is spurred to do more.

“With the series of awards from prominent entities who are watching and taking notes including the APC led federal government, student groups, religious groups especially the Christian Association of Nigeria in Rivers State, and now the National Youth Councill Of Nigeria I have no choice but to live up to the challenge, there is still more to do and we are prepared and poised to do all”, he maintained.
