Akpabu/Itu Monarch Hails Gov Wike Over His Developal Strides In Rivers
The Paramount Ruler/Nyenweli Akpabu/Itu Clans in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, HRH Eze Godwin Chukwuemeka Ordu (JP) has commended the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for his developmental strides in the state since he assumed duty especially on road infrastructure and human capital development.
He stated this over the weekend in his palace when chatting with newsmen. The monarch also used the opportunity to thank the Governor and Hon. (Dr) Chidi Lloyd, his nephew for the elevation of his stool to a second class status as well as the attraction of other developments to his clans.
Eze Ordu specially extended the gratitude of his Akpabu/Itu people to their neighbouring communities of Erema, Elele and Onelga in general for benefitting their clans with their local vigilante group known as OSPAC when insecurity was ravaging their clans.
He commended the local vigilante group for the peace efforts in the communities as they are enjoying peace nowadays but expressed reservation over the IGP’s order to disarm the group which according to him, could only bring back insecurity in the communities as well as exposed the operators and their family members to danger as being witnessed.
“I would appeal to the IGP Mohammed Adamu to rescind that decision in the interest of the citizens whose safety depends mostly on the local vigilantes,” he said.
Eze Ordu advised the Wike administration to give priority attention to employment generation and how to tackle the challenges of insecurity in some parts of the state.
While soliciting for the support and encouragement of Rivers people and residents to the Wike administration to do more, the Traditional Ruler equally used the opportunity to congratulate the state and federal governments on Nigeria’s attainment of her Diamond Jubilee Anniversary and plead for peaceful celebration.
