Elders Statesman, High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs Finally Joins Ancestors Saturday, March 13

After all the hullabaloo that seemed to have no end to it about the burial of the elder statesman, business mogul and Head of Young Briggs House, High Chief (Dr) Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs will be committed to mother earth Saturday, March 13, in his home town, Abonnema in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The date of the final journey of the High O.B. Lulu-Briggs, a global citizen with a robust file and unparalleled achievements came to a head after series of interventions and peace meetings with the O.B. Lulu-Briggs family notably, Chief Dumo O.B. Lulu-Briggs, son, and new Head, Young Briggs House of Abonnema and his stepmother, Dr (Mrs) Seinye Lulu-Briggs.

Despite the seeming display of heroism in Lulu-Briggs household which tends to lend credence to the widely held belief that it (heroism) is usually manifest in the home more than on the most memorable battlefields in history, it has at least this advantage, it leaves the family more united and peaceful.

A statement published and signed by the chief mourner, Chief Dumo O.B. Lulu-Briggs (son), disclosed that the activities marking the final journey of the fallen hero started on Monday, March 8, with Evening of drama and tributes at the Ebitimi Banigo Auditorium, University of Port Harcourt at 4pm; Wednesday, March 10, Service of Songs and Tributes Nite at the EUI Centre Monaco, Plot FII, off Sani Abacha Road, GRA Phase 3, Port Harcourt at 4pm, Friday, March 12, Christian and Traditional wake keep at Onubio, Briggs Compound, Abonnema at 9pm; Saturday, March 13, Interdenominational Funeral Service at Lulu-Kiri, Abonnema at 10am.
