The former chairman of Ekiet Local Government Area of Akwa-Ibom State, Hon. Eniekan Akpan says the successful completion and commissioning of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Complex in Port Harcourt is the dawn of a new era for the Niger Delta people.
Hon. Akpan described the successful completion of the building as a milestone which shows that the Akpabio administration is ready to make progress by connecting the cities of the Niger Delta region with real projects and roads.
He said the new NDDC complex has ended many years of renting by the commission, noting that the yearly rentals would now be saved and use to develop other parts of the region that need development.
Hon. Akpan said NDDC has not been the way it is, now stressing since Senator Godswill Akpabio whom he described as the uncommon transformer took over the Ministry of Niger Delta in 2019, he has unlocked the economy potentials of the Niger Delta region.
He expressed joy because “the exercise came into fusion under the administration of senator Akpabio who in his normal way and styles has performed like when he was the governor of Akwa Ibom State for 8 years”.
His words: Senator Akpabio is replicating that same style and strategy for the people of Niger Delta. So we are very glad about it because this complex has added value to us. We can now show the world what we have done with the resources that came to the Niger Delta.
He also thanked Mr. President for his determination to develop the Niger Delta region and for appointing Senator Godswill Akpabio who has seen the development of the Niger Delta as his top most priority.
