Contenders To Oginigba Chieftaincy Stool Reconcile
The contenders to the stool of the Paramount Ruler/Nyenweli of Oginigba Kingdom may have reconciled, as members of the Elisara Compound have reportedly cautioned the alleged offending Chief Anthony Ariolu and apology said to have been tendered to the Eze-in-Council of Oginigba Kingdom.
Speaking with newsmen at his palace over the weekend, the Paramount Ruler/Nyenweli Oginigba Kingdom, HRH, Eze Amb. (Dr) Gershon B. Odum (JP), Igwugwu Oha I sued for peace over the claim to his stool by the offenders.
The royal father pleaded with his people and indeed everybody living and doing business in Oginigba to stop making inflammatory statement or laying false claims which are acts likely to cause a breach of the peace in the kingdom.
He made this call while reacting for the first time to the claim by Chief Ariolu in Elisara Compound of Oginigba Kingdom and advised his brothers to join hands with him to build and bequeath a peaceful community to the younger generation of Oginigba people, adding that the unnecessary crisis will not take the community anywhere.
Eze Odum recalled that the throne of Oginigba has been mitigated upon and the High Court of Rivers State on the 25th of September, 2008 gave a judgement in his favour.
He further disclosed that the said judgement is currently pending at the court of Appeal and that making statement on the outcome of the matter is subjudice and pre-emptive to the judgement of the Court of Appeal.
The monarch further advised his brothers to rather come together and see how they can explore their God-given endowment of making Oginigba the most cosmopolitan community in Rivers State, which apart from playing host to some blue chip multi-national companies also has a daily influx of people who are coming in to either do business or live in the community, because of its being host to these companies.
Eze Odum also used the opportunity to express their gratitude once more to the state Chief Executive, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike whom he noted has apart from recognizing him as a second class traditional ruler in the state has also upgraded the community to a kingdom and most recently made it possible for one of their own to become the Obio/Akpor local government chairman-elect in the person of Hon (Barr) George Ariolu, adding that this is the best time for them to come together and harness their resources and ensure that peace reign in the community to attract more development.
The parties have however reconciled especially as members of the Elisara Compound have cautioned the offending Chief Ariolu and apologized to the Eze-in-council of Oginigba Kingdom.
It would be recalled that one Chief Anthony Adele Ariolu of Elisara Compound of Oginigba Kingdom penultimate week went on air to pronounce himself as the Paramount Ruler/Nyenweli of a non-existing kingdom out of Oginigba, causing unnecessary tension and panic in the area.
