Omoku City Expansion, A Necessity For ONELGA Development – Hon. Vincent Job
The Executive Chairman, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, Hon. Vincent Job, has expressed the willingness of his administration to expand the city of Omoku, Headquarters of the Local Government Area, to act as a catalyst in the development process of the Local Government Area.
Hon. Job made the remark while playing host to the Executive members of Omoku People’s Forum led by its President, Barrister Emeka Ichoku in his office.
The Executive Chairman lauded the group for the lofty ideas sold to him and appealed for peace amongst community youth groups, to enable development come in.
The Council Boss said though the process is capital intensive, with a public-private partnership arrangement, investment can be possible, given an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.
Earlier, President, Omoku People’s Forum, Barrister Emeka Ichoku thanked the Chairman for accepting the group and giving members audience, and asserted that Omoku City’s development is the development of ONELGA in general, adding that such can only be achieved in the right atmosphere.
He regretted the hostilities that ravaged the city in the past, which crippled the economy of the area and appealed for attitudinal change.
The President enumerated a number of ideas with which to develop Omoku City to include giving a facelift to the Omoku Main Market; establishment of Omoku City Chamber of Commerce; and making efforts to return the banks.
Barrister Ichoku reiterated his group’s commitment to partner the Council to develop the area.
There were presentations made to the Executive Chairman by the group.
In attendance were Secretary to Council, NdulakaOnyedibia, Chief Press Secretary, Ndu Ajie and Chief of Protocols, Onyema Wilson.
