The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Vintage farm and Products, Eze Sir Mike Elechi has emerged the new president of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Industry Mine and Agriculture PHACCIMA.
The election was held today, Tuesday 16/11/2021 at the Chambers office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
The New PHACCIMA President said that they will transform the organized private sector and revive some moribund companies in Rivers State.
Eze Elechi who is a recipient of National Productivity Award promised to bring his experience and partner the state government to create employment opportunities through what he described as brink back our business in Port Harcourt.
As a public officer, Eze Mike Elechi demonstrated consistent commitment to best practices in civil service. From humble beginning and rising up to the position of Director of Technical Services at the Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation (RSBC) between 1999 and 2003, he functioned as the workers’ friend in Management and the Management unofficial voice to workers. He developed this enviable status from his ‘strong constitution’ and exposure to labour between 1990 and 1994. During this period, he functioned as Interim Chairman of Radio, Television and Theatre Workers’ Union (RATTAWU) and later State Chairman of the union. Earlier, he had been Chairman of Staff Loans and Welfare Committee of the RSBC. These positions and the human touch he employed in performing therein made him the beloved of his coworkers and darling of Management.
Eze Mike as a Permanent Secretary Crisscrossed more than eight ministries in a period of eight years. He voluntarily retired from service to pursue his life ambition of championing development in Ikwerre Land.
In retirement, Mike has invested reasonable time and . funds into sustainable agriculture and cottage industries. At Vintage Farms and Products Ltd, Elele, he has become an employer of labour in commercial farming of yam, cassava, fruits and fishes. Vintage Water Ltd produces and packages very good quality table water. Cedar Construction Limited also produces concrete blocks, kerb stones and pave stones at Kilometre 2, Ahoada Road, Elele, Rivers State. He is an accomplished entrepreneur of our time.
