Engenni/Ogbogolo Kingdom Endorses Gov Wike

…Calls For His Re-Election

Engenni Eminent Persons Group, on behalf of Engenni/Ogbogolo Kingdom, has expressed their unwavering faith in Governor Nyesom Wike and called for his re-election come March 9th, 2019.

The Chairman of the Engenni Eminent Persons Group, Elder Harvey Warmann while chatting with newsmen in Port- Harcourt, commended Hon. Hope Ikiriko, Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Council for his display of sound leadership during the entire period of the presidential election.

He stated that but for the peaceful disposition of the council chairman, what happened in Abonnema would have also happened in Ahoada West, stressing that the hijack of sensitive electoral materials was all pervasive, particularly in Ward 4.

“There is yet another round of election for the Governor/State Assembly on 9th of March, 2019. The good people of Engenni/Ogbogolo kingdom in Ahoada West, Local Government Area are again demanding for a peaceful, free and fair and transparent election. It is our unalloyed desire that His Excellency, Governor Wike of Rivers State, who, during his first tenure in office demonstrated so much love for our people and had the political will to turn around the fortunes of the people and Rivers State for the better is returned for a second term in office as Governor.

Elder Warmann who was full of encomiums for Governor Wike, citing the elevation of the Engenni/Ogbogolo Traditional Stool to First Class; the appointment of Engenni sons and daughters to positions of trust in the State, the approval of a trunk road to link Mbiama to Ogbogolo, a model secondary school in Okarki; the modernization of the general hospital in Joinkrama among others, enjoined his people to cast their votes for the PDP and Governor  Wike.

The Group Chairman also extolled the performance of the leader of Ahoada West, Local Government Area in the State Assembly, Hon. Nwanaka Okpokiri. Stressing that Hon. Nwanaka Okpokiri has endeared himself positively to the heart of Engenni/Ogbogolo people and ‘we therefore are expected’ to reciprocate this gesture by voting massively to return him for a second term come March 9th 2019 Governorship/House of Assembly election.

Elder Warmann seized the opportunity to further thank Hon. Hope Ikiriko, the Council Chairman, for appointing one of their illustrious sons, Hon. Ezekiel Agri, as the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG).

The Group Chairman called on all Engenni/Ogbogolo indigenes, particularly the political class to condemn the activities of certain persons who have been colluding with miscreants to disenfranchise people of their right to vote.

He similarly, disapproved of the involvement of the military personnel and SARS in the elections, describing it as unnecessary.

Insisting that any act considered a threat to the peace of the area should be reported to the police or the palace of the traditional ruler, Elder Warmann however, warned that anybody formenting trouble in the area will be held accountable no matter how highly placed.
