Hon. George Appreciates Group At Christmas

It was celebration galore as members of ASALGA 13 FOR WIKE spent their Christmas with ease and joy following the donation of various gifts to them by the Vision bearer, Hon. Onengiyeofori George.

The event which took place at Kalabari National College Field, Buguma City, Asari Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, was witnessed by thousands of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faithful.

Speaking at the event, Hon. George, who is the Vision bearer of the group, made it clear that the gesture became necessary looking back at the sacrifice made by those who have been faithful and loyal with their votes for the party, the PDP.

Hon. George said the primary aim of the event was to praise God for His goodness in their lives and also a day for thanksgiving and merriment.

According to him, ASALGA 13 FOR WIKE is a political pressure group galvanizing support (13 wards and 15 communities) for the re-election of ‘Mr. Projects’, Chief Nyesom Wike and for all other PDP candidates

As part of the donation, all wards in the Local Government Area were given five bags of 50kg rice and one cow each. Wards with high membership strength were given additional bags of rice and one cow. All those referred to as Apex members were given one 50kg bag of rice and one goat each. Furthermore, all members of the local government area Exco, ward coordinators and the media practitioners were given one 25kg bag of rice each and two persons to one goat.

The chairman of the group, Hon. Daibi Amachree in his speech thanked the vision bearer for the kind gesture and prayed God for more blessing and protection upon him.

He reiterated that the activities and programmes of ASALGA 13 have received quite a thunderous encomiums and accolades from the people of the local government area, and promised that another round of empowerment will come up this January before the commencement of the 2019 general elections.

Hon. Orolosama Amachree, in his goodwill message, commended Hon. George for putting smiles on the faces of the people through his philanthropic work, noting that, in the history of ASALGA, no one has done such a thing, including those who are occupying elective positions.

He used the medium to call on other prominent persons in the area to take a queue from Hon. George so as to eliminate poverty in the area, adding that, for a man who is not in government and not vying for any political position to make such kind gestures means he actually has the interest of the people at heart.
