RSHA Tasks Security Agencies On Professionalism

Ahead of the April 13th set aside by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for supplementary elclections in the State, the Majority Leader of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule has called on security agencies to be more professional in the discharge of their duties.

 He said this while moving a motion for the House to honour men and women who lost their lives during the February 23rd and March 9 general elections in the State.

He advised them to avoid loss of lives while ensuring that Rivers men and women are given the opportunity to freely choose those they want to represent them.

He also expressed hope that the supplementary elections will be peaceful and transparent.

Meanwhile the House had in honour of those who lost their lives during the February 23rd and March 9 Elections deferred all legislative business as well as presentation of Assembly Committee reports.

This was sequel to the motion moved by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule.

The leader in his motion has stressed the need to honour those who stood in defence of democracy and eventually lost their lives.

He maintained that it was proper for the House to honour all Rivers indigenes who were brutally murdered during elections regretting that some of them are yet to be buried.

The House however rose up and observed a minute silence in their honour especially as it was the first plenary since after the election break.
