More reactions have continued to follow the probe of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC accounts over alleged malfeasance and other activities which have resulted in uneasy calm for the parties involved.
Reacting to the ongoing drama at the National Assembly complex, a prominent Niger Delta group, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, led by its newly elected President, Peter Timothy has called on the leadership of the Commission too stick to the original plan and mandate spreading development among the region’s communities and should not allow crises currently rocking the body to affect the development of the region.
The IYC threw its support behind the probe of the accounts of the Commission since 20o1 to 2019 fiscal years.
Similarly, another group led by Mr. Hama Sagbe has condemned what is going on in the Niger Delta, Development Commission calling for cooperation across board in order to achieve its set objectives.
He noted that the North-East Commission had been running its affairs without issues.
He called for a credible auditing of the accounts of the interventionist body to pave the way for transparency in the activities.
He also warned against any incident that could lead to the scrap of the Commission which he noted had been one of the wishes of detractors.
