Police Arrest 6 Suspected Cultists, Recover 2 Ak 47 Rifles

In a bid to forestall reprisals and curtail spread of gang war in Diobu, Port Harcourt, the combined Police team led by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), in company of Diobu vigilante reportedly recovered two Ak 47 riffles at back of Mile 3 slaughter last Saturday when the security operatives raided suspected criminal hideout, National Network has learned.

Our reporter also gathered that six persons suspected to be cultists were arrested by the security operatives at the place where the guns were recovered. Our source disclosed that the suspects had reportedly made useful confession to the Police how they came about the guns.

Dependable sources also told National Network that the assault riffle in possession of the suspected cultists may not be unconnected to the ongoing supremacy battle between Iceland, Deygbam cult groups over collection of ‘matching ground ‘ fee which has claimed four lives.

We gathered that security operatives acting on credible intelligence about reports of influx of machineries and arms into Diobu swung into action to prevent further loss of lives and property.

The spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) responding via a text message stated that he was not aware of the development as at the time of filing this report.

However, a member of Diobu vigilante who pleaded anonymity confirmed the incident.
