Letter To The Editor: Menace Of Students Roaming Streets Of Port-Harcourt After They Are Driven From School For Unpaid Fees

Permit me to use your widely read newspaper, National Network Newspaper to express my view on the menace of students roaming the streets of Port-Harcourt after they are driven away from school because their parents have not paid their school fees.

I have noticed how students roam the streets after they were driven from school for unpaid school fees and instead of going home, they would loiter around on the streets of Port-Harcourt. I think this is very improper and constitutes a public nuisance.

I think that the Rivers State Government through the Ministry of Education should put in place measures to stop this practice of students roaming the streets when they are driven off from school.

The government should take measures to tackle the practice to prevent students from joining bad gangs as a result of roaming the streets.

I also think that it’s important to comply with directives of schools and pay their children’s school fees on time as schools will not allow their children to attend classes when they have not paid their fees. Children should just go home if their parents have not paid their school fees.
