In their concerted efforts in search of peace, the good people of Boa Boue Kingdom in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State over the weekend inaugurated a peace committee to chart a way forward for lasting peace in the embattled communities.
The peace committee which was inaugurated by the Paramount Ruler of the kingdom, HRH Mene Taalor Nwidae Tornwe IV has the Paramount Ruler of Gbam Community, Prince Neeka Clement Daasang as its chairman, while Promise Dam is the secretary.
There were two other sub-committees created to according to them, fast track the process of achieving their goal in no distance time.
The two sub-committees included Traditional Cleansing Committee and Committee on Diaspora. The Traditional Cleansing Committee members consist of Chief Baridor Yorgwara; Chief Kobaa Peter Wudee; Chief Jerry Nununee; Chief Ekekiel Garah and Golden Nwibakpo Nwinua.
The Diaspora Committee has as its members, Chief Raphael Kponee; Chief Leden Tordee; Mr. Isaac Ikpugi; Hon Pepson Goneewa; Elder Lucky Ati, Chief Clement Neeka Daassang and Dam, Promise Millionaire.
The main committee members includes Chief Clement Neeka Daasang; Dam, Promise Millionaire; Chief Peter, Kobaa Wudee; Chief Ezekiel Garah; Chief Jerry Nununee; Chief Baridor Yorgwara; Chief Raphael Kponee; and Nuesi Doobee.
Others were Chief Leden Tordee; Hon Gordon Tornwee; Hon Pepson Goneewa; Chief Simeon B. Deeyor; Elder Lucky Ati; Golden Nwibakpo; Pastor Borloo and God’spower Kiinee.
Some others were John Bawo; Chief Benjamin Nate Dio; Isaac Ikpugi, Zuguru Tom Tornwigbo; Gbarako, Barinua Kome; Hon. Confidence Leera; Baritoesae Bonaloo; Victor Daabaloo and Barr Nnaa Dum-eemene Money.
Inaugurating the Peace Committee Mene Tornwe IV charged them to be committed and focused in the discharge of their duties, adding that the kingdom has indeed suffered untold hardship and losses and so is ready to do eveything possible to return peace to the communities, insisting that “Boue must be great again”.
It would be recalled that cult-related crisis has been ravaging the Khana LG communities for sometime now with its attendant loss of lives and properties.
This development reportedly forced the villages to desert their homes for the bush or safer neighbouring communities for safety while the stakeholders and the security operatives have been having sleepless nights finding solution to the challenges.
