The Chairman of the Rivers State Taskforce On Road Decongestion and Illegal Street Trading, Chief (Hon) Bright Amaewhule has expressed appreciation to the Rivers State Governor, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for reconstituting the board of the Rivers State Road Maintenance And Rehabilitation Agency.
Amaewhule who made the commendation when he visited the Chairman of the Agency, Prince Timothy Nsirim in his office on Tuesday, said he was impressed by the level of success achieved by the Agency on the NTA/Obiri Ikwerre Road junction which he said, is of high quality and standard, adding that it has provided some measure of control on the transporters plying the route.
He said he was in the Agency to inform the Chairman about some potholes along Rumuola Road which according to him, are militating against the free flow of traffic on that road.
The Taskforce Chairman commended the agency for acquiring some basic equipment for its operations, noting that the equipment would go a long way in tackling potholes in the state.
Amaewhule noted that the Taskforce would work in synergy with the agency to improve on its mandate on road decongestion.
In his response, the Chairman of the Rivers State Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Agency, Prince Timothy Nsirim thanked the Taskforce Chairman for the visit and assured that the potholes identified along Rumuola Road would be handled in no distant time.
He pledged to work in synergy with other sister agencies to ensure that there is free flow of vehicular traffic on the roads of Rivers State.
