South-South RATTAWU Ends Meeting  In Asaba

A three-day south south zonal meeting of the Radio Television Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria-RATTAWU has ended in Asaba, capital city of Delta state with a call on State governments in the zone to take the lead in the implementation of the new minimum wage.

South-South National President of the Union, Comrade Christian Saro Ganale, in his address at the opening ceremony of the event said state  governments in the south south zone as the treasure zone of the nation have enough capacity to immediately implement the new minimum wage without any further delay.

He said the new minimum wage if fully implemented by state governments in the south-south zone will increase the productivity of its members in the zone.

According to him, “civil servants in the south south zone should be seen with oil on their faces as civil servants in the oil producing states of the nation.”

The south-south National  vice president of the Union, Comrade Christian Saro Ganale also used the forum to call on state governments in the zone that are yet to implement the payment of weigh-in allowance to do so with dispatch.

In his keynote address, the National president of the Union, Comrade Kabir Garba Tssani declared that his administration has zero tolerance for indiscipline, sharp practices and any act that is inimical to the growth and development of the Union.

He called on members of the Union to display a high level of discipline and respect to higher authorities and abhor sharp practices which is the bane of the growth of any organisation.

High points of the event were visits to tourist resort , re-endorsement of the national president for a second tenure and conferment of the title of ODOGU 1 OF ASABA on him by the Delta State council of the Union.
