MOSOP Secretariat Allegedly Invaded
The national secretariat of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) located in Bori was last Saturday, October 17, 2020 reportedly invaded by hoodlums numbering about 40.
This took place some 45mins before a scheduled Central Committee meeting which was to be presided over by the President of MOSOP, Fegalo Nsuke, the statement added.
The statement did not report of any casualties as the president was yet to arrive the secretariat at the time of the invasion.
The hoodlums were said to have forcefully gained entry into the secretariat at about 9am by breaking the doors, looting and destroying documents, computers, office equipment worth millions of Naira and laying siege on the center for about 4hours.
The hoodlums were allegedly addressed by their leaders, Lah and others right inside the main auditorium while they laid siege on the center. They chanted war songs and hailed Mr Tamana as they addressed them.
MOSOP said it was shocked that despite an early call to the Police and several complaints, there was no Police intervention as the secretariat was being wrecked by the hoodlums.
At the time of this report, the secretariat staff were living in fear and uncertainty.
