Ihunda Urges FG To Include Rivers In List Of Loan Beneficiaries
As Nigerians celebrate her 61st Independence Anniversary, Mayor Of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Sir Allwell Ihunda has urged the Federal Government to include Rivers State as one of the states to benefit from the fresh loans to be taken by the Federal Government from the world bank.
Sir Allwell Ihunda expressed disappointment over the exclusion of Rivers State from states that are to benefit from the projects to be executed with the fresh loan that the Federal Government is seeking to obtain.
He said as Nigerians celebrate her 61st Anniversary as an Independent nation, the Federal Government should be magnanimous enough to jettison politics and support the state Government in the interest of Rivers people.
He said Gov Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has done so much for the people of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area and the people are sold out to supporting him even beyond his tenure as Governor of Rivers State.
Sir Allwell Ihunda said Rivers State is not just an integral component of the Nigeria state, but a treasure base of the nation hence should be primary beneficiaries of any largesse coming from the center.
The Mayor said Nigeria has remained indivisible in the past 61yrs despite the challenges we have gone through, he also believes the dreams of our founding fathers will be revived.
Sir Allwell Ihunda urged security agencies to provide adequate security to residents of the city so they can enjoy the public holiday peacefully.
