Ayade Missing As South-South Governors Meet In Port Harcourt
Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade was absent in the meeting of the South South Governor’s Forum held at the Government House, Port Harcourt today Monday, October 4, 2021.
As at the time of filing this report, South South governors present at the meeting were host, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, Akwa Ibom State governor, Emmanuel Udom, Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and Bayelsa governor, Douye Diri.
The failure of the Cross River State Chief Executive to honour the regional meeting of the governors may be discerned from his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the rest five governors belong to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Although details of the meeting have not been disclosed to journalists at the Government House, indications are that issues of security, anti-grazing law and the VAT debate are top on the agenda.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State is the Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum.
