A Public Relations practitioner and a former governorship candidate in Rivers State, Hon. Emmanuel Nwabrije has been conferred with a doctorate degree by the American Institute of Leadership Manpower and Management Development (ILMMD).
Nwabrije who flew the flag of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) in the 2019 Governorship Election in Rivers State, was among five others, including two career ambassadors and a serving commissioner, to receive the honorary degrees from the globally acclaimed professional body.
At the event which held on Saturday, the Institute also honoured four doctoral fellows, including a top-notch lecturer with twenty-four books to his credit.
A veteran journalist who at age 28 became the youngest news magazine publisher from the shores of Rivers State, Dr. Emmanuel Nwabrije was joined at the ceremony by friends, associates and family members,
With face brimming with smiles, Nwabrije said he was humbled by the honour and pledged to uphold the confidence reposed in him.
He promised to live by the highest standard expected of his new found status, even as he further pledged to be a better mentor to those looking up to him.
In an interview with National Network shortly after he received the award certificate, Dr. Nwabrije said he deemed the award as a rare privilege to be honoured as done by the Institute.
“I feel highly honoured that such reputable Institute, without my slightest incline, would go online and dig up my profile, read so much about my modest achievements in career and academics, and consider me worthy of a doctorate award’.
“I feel elated and I give all glory to Almighty God. With all sense of responsibility, and by the grace of God, I’ll do my best to defend my integrity and that of ILMMD”, he declared.
Earlier in his speech while presenting the certificates and investitures, Dr. Theophilus Cornerstone Okonoua noted that although ILMMD as a professional body is strongly rooted in the United States, the Institute is Africa’s leading and only professional body for career administrators, development executives, specialists, experts, spokespersons and practitioners.
