NAWOJ Felicitates With New Rivers NUJ Exco
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Rivers State wishes to congratulate her members, Esther Obialor, Doris Tams Morrison, and Ominini Leslie Wokoma, on their victory at the 7th Triennial Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ)Rivers State Council.
NAWOJ in a statement jointly signed by Chairman, Mrs. Susan Susan Serekara-Nwikhana and Secretary, Dr. Ngozi Anosike described the emergence of three of the members as Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and Auditor respectively, as well deserved because it is an eloquent testimony of the need to have more women in the executive arm of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ)Rivers State Council.
The statement read: “NAWOJ is aware of the need to champion the welfare of female journalists in the state which you promised to promote and urges you to represent her very well as executive members of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Rivers State Council.
“NAWOJ also Congratulates Stanley Job Stanley, Okechukwu Maru, Ike Wigodo,and Fubara Miebiaka for emerging as Chairman, Vice-chairman, Secretary ànd Financial Secretary respectively and expressed hope that NAWOJ will like never before be given the special attention it deserves by our great union.
“NAWOJ further advised all who won in the elections to make the welfare of journalists especially female journalists in the state their priority bearing in mind the excellent and selfless services NAWOJ has rendered to the society, especially women and girls.
“NAWOJ commended the commissioner for Information and Communication, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, our elders in the profession and all journalists for ensuring a peaceful process and asked them to give the new leadership a maximum support stressing that the victory belongs to NUJ.
“Once again Congratulations our great NAWOJIANS”.
