Eze Onyeka Cautions Omudioga Factional Leaders Against Needless Crisis
Eze (Dr) Sam Ugo Onyeka, Eze Ugnosinichi of Omudioga Clan in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State has maintained that he is the heir to the Royal Family of Omudioga Kingdom and to the stool of his late father, the last occupant of the throne and paramount ruler who ruled the community for 45years.
He stated this while briefing the press over the weekend in the palace at Omuduoga in reaction to a publication made by some persons in the community questioning his authority to have promptly addressed security issues in the community.
He called these persons whom he described as factional leaders to order, saying they are spoiling for war where there is none and urged them to instead help in maintaining peace and order in their various domain as directed by the state governor.
“The said throne is hereditary according to the historic facts and records that are even with the authorities, and even though it is my bonafide right to occupy same at the end of the five (5) year mourning period for our last king, my father, Late HRH Eze (Dr) Godwin C. Onyeka, it will be a public ceremony,” he said.
Eze Onyeka said he was coronated by his father six (6) years ago in a public domain for the same purpose and that there has never been any dispute ever since.
On the publication he made concerning the Omudioga Clan when they were in crisis six (6) months ago, Eze Onyeka said as a critical stakeholder in the community and state, he does not need any permission from any quarter to intervene in the insecurity ravaging his community then.
The traditional ruler said however that in the same security meeting by the Ogbakor Omudioga, he was unanimously mandated to further ensure that peace is sustained in the community.
“Besides, most of the persons who signed the publication under reference as chiefs and elders ran away from the community then only to appear few weeks ago from their hidings to tackle me,” he said.
The traditional ruler equally disclosed that most of those whose signatures appeared in the purported document challenging his authority have confessed that they did not understand what they signed and begged for forgiveness.
Eze Onyeka maintained that for the long period his late father reigned, there was no dispute and wondered why it will happen now.
He made it known that the Onyeka royal family is ready to contest what he described as an organized conspiracy which from all indications is an afterthought to any length.
He stated further that what should occupy the minds of every genuine stakeholder is how to contribute to a peaceful, united and progressive community bequeeted to them and not to provoke crisis where none exists.
Eze Onyeka used the opportunity to encourage the good people of Omudioga Clan to disregard the published misinformation and continue in their peaceful disposition and co-existence, adding that it is his expectation that God will continue to bless his people for greater heights in the years ahead.
He however called on both the local and state governments and indeed the general public to disregard the published misguided information and consider the Omudioga Clan in their developmental agenda.
