Rivers IPAC Elects New IMC Executive

…As Akawor Emerges Chairman

Following the de-registration of many political parties in Nigeria recently, reducing same to eighteen (18), the Rivers State Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has over the weekend in Port Harcourt harmonized and elected an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to overseer its affairs for six (6) months pending the rectification of the parties.

Those elected were Ambassador Desmond Akawor, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chairman; Chief Ken Barine Kukang, Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Deputy Chairman; Bro Patrick John-Woke, All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA); General Secretary; Hon. Deacon Enyi Princewill, All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP), Publicity Secretary.

Others were Mr. Omangima Henry, Young People’s Party (YPP), Organizing Secretary; Mr. Kenneth Atata, Action Peoples Party (APP), Financial Secretary; Mr. Rowland Opusunju, Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Treasurer and Hon Progress Ogbokuma, African Action Congress (AAC), Gender and Disability Adviser.

In a statement signed by the publicity secretary, Deacon Princewill and made available to the press, he said the development was as a result of the Federal High Court verdict of June 11, 2020.

He made it clear that IPAC was poised to take Rivers State to the next level through good governance induced by the opposition’s constructive criticism.

He also disclosed that with Amb. Akawor’s experience and leadership qualities, IPAC will go places and achieve set goal.
