It was a rain of prayers and songs of melody at the Isaac Boro Park, Port Harcourt, on Monday, April 25, 2022, as some of the nation’s finest gospel artists joined forces to sing down God’s glory for the Presidential and Governorship aspirations of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and Bro. Felix Amaechi Obuah.

Prayer and high praises were the highlight of the Port Harcourt City Prayer Walk, an event organized by a coalition of support groups rooting for the 2023 Presidential and Governorship bids by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Bro. Felix Amechi Obuah respectively.

Amid heavy traffic that shutdown part of Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt, the event commenced with a solemn march from St. Andrews School, Diobu, Port Harcourt, to the venue proper, Isaac Boro Park, opposite the flyover.

With an intimidating crowd following mobilization of participantsfrom the 23 Local Government Areas of the State, The Prayer Walk attracted people from different church denominations.  And, with a common sense of purpose, they all jointed in praying, singing and dancing.

Some ministers who led prayer sessions and offered prayers at the event include Pastor Gold Agama of Mountain of Fire Ministries, Borikiri branch; Pastor Douglas Iyama of Church Of God (Seventh Day) Family Worship Center Eagle Island; Pastor Ndubuisi Okafor of Redeemed Christian Church of God, (Jesus the Greatest Parish); Prophet Inah Bassey, General Overseer, Supreme Power Ministries.

Similarly, gospel artistes who performed at the event were Paul Nwokocha, Sensational Bamidele, Stone Cold, Felix Ndukwe and Dm Strong Ebuka.

Addressing the press, one of the Coordinators, Comrade Sotonye Harry said it’s a good thing for the people to always pray for their leaders and that is why the youths and women in Rivers State came together to pray for Governor Wike and Bro. Felix Obuah.

“We are here to praise and pray for God’s intervention in Gov Wike’s political aspiration comes 2023 and Felix Obuah gubernatorial ambition.

“People that gathered here came out of their own volition. You can see, we didn’t mobilize anyone here.

“Bro Felix Obuah is a kind of person if he leads this state, we the youths will be blessed, likewise Governor Wike as Nigerian president.

“That’s why we chose the duo among others to pray for them”, Harry said.

Hon. Ikenna Chiege who led another set of groups at the event, said the Prayer Walk was crucial as Rivers people have surrendered to the will of God, believing that God would give to Rivers State and Nigeria, men after his own heart.

“To whom the cap fits, let him wear it.  That is why we have absolute confidence that with a man like Governor Wike, Nigeria would be taken to the next level.  In the same vein, Bro. Felix Obuah is someone that have been tested, tried and proven in many leadership capacities.  We have cried unto God to make him the next Governor of Rivers State”, he said, adding that the former State PDP Chairman is well positioned to follow the footsteps of governor Wike.
