100 Days In Office: Non-Indigenes In Okrika Celebrate Council Boss

 

The leadership and members of non Indigenes residing in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State have felicitated with the Council Chairman, Chief (Hon) Tobin Akuro for his landmark achievements in only 100 days in office, describing him as a visionary and capacity leader.

Speaking with newsmen at the event, the Chairman of the group, Chief Vincent Ajah said the chairman has not only transformed the LGA but also touched the lives of the Indigenes and non Indigenes alike.

“We pray for his long life, sound health and strength as he continues to render services for the betterment of the Okrika, Rivers State and indeed, the country at large.

Chief Ajah pointed out that Chief Akuro came at the right time as it’s evidently clear that he is positively changing the narrative in the local government, adding that they didn’t make mistake in supporting his candidacy to lead the council at this point in time, adding that even the Okrika Legislative Assembly recently passed Vote of Confidence on him.

The Non Indigenes maintained that Chief Akuro has demonstrated within the period under review that as a worthy Stakeholder, has identified the problems confronting the council and he is focused and committed in attending to them for the benefit of all. They further expressed satisfaction with the achievements of the Okrika council boss especially in the areas of education, health, human capital development, security and infrastructural development.

Also speaking at the event, the Igbo Community Association Chairman in Okrika, Chief Daniel Nwogu disclosed that the Non Indigenes Without Borders as they are known actually constitutes one third of the entire population in Okrika and has been peaceful, orderly and contribute to the growth and development of the area whenever they are called upon.

He used the opportunity to appeal to the council boss to carry them along in the scheme of things as equal stakeholders. They further reaffirmed their support to the Okrika LGA, the Wike administration and the PDP at all times.
