One Year Anniversary: Khana Council Chairman, Dr. Bariere Rolls Out Activities For Celebration
All roads lead to Bori, the traditional headquarters of Ogoni Kingdom on Friday, June 17, 2022 for the celebration of One-Year-In-Office of the Executive Chairman of Khana Local Government Council Chairman, Dr. Bariere Thomas.
Already, activities have been lined up to mark the historic event, with the State and National Assembly lawmakers, Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rivers State, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, as well as top government officials set for commissioning and foundation laying of projects.
Top on the list in the activities that would commence at 10.00am is the Commissioning of the Nyesom Ezenwo Wike Model Primary School, Nyowii Baen by the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Desmond Akawor.
The ceremonial train would next move to Khana Local Government Industrial/Skills Acquisition Centre, Bori, where the lawmaker representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Robinson Dekor would be expected to cut the tape.
The foundation laying for the reconstruction of Bori Main Market follows next, with former Environment Commissioner in the state, Dame Prof. Mrs. Roselyn Konya taking the lead.
President of KAGOTE, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Deeyah would then lead the train to commission the Khana Local Government Information Communication and Technology Centre in Bori, with the Deputy Leader in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Barieene Deeyah performing the commissioning of the Khana Local Government Secretariat New Gate House.
Next in the projects commissioning would be the Resurfaced Kaani Road and Drainage which would be performed by the member representing Khana Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Sir (Hon) Prince Lezina Ngbor.
The curtains for the one-day event would be drawn with the Account of Stewardship by Khana Council boss, Dr. Bariere Thomas, an event slated for the Police Station Field, Bori. Dr. Bariere would thereafter round off the event with a press briefing.
