Atiku Will Defeat Buhari In 2019 – Nwiyor

…Says Buhari, No Longer Popular

The Director-General of Wike Solidarity Movement (WSM), Prince Sudor Nwiyor, has said that the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, will defeat the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari, as Nigerians go to the polls in  2019.

Nwiyor, who stated this in a telephone interview on Monday while answering questions on the emergence of Alhaji Abubakar as PDP’s presidential candidate, said that the PDP will win the presidential election in 2019, since Buhari is no longer popular following his failure to address the challenges facing Nigerians.

Nwiyor said that Alhaji Abubakar, if elected Nigeria’s President, will perform better than President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that he will bring job opportunities for the youths in the country.

The Director-General of the pro-Wike group said: “If you look at what is happening in Nigeria, Buhari is no longer popular because of the killings that are happening all over the country, … the insecurity, and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the PDP presidential candidate has what it takes to win Buhari in the 2019 General Elections… A man like Atiku should be given opportunity… He is so experienced. He was the former Vice President to Obasanjo and with his level of experience gained over the years, I think that if he has an opportunity to rule this country, he’s going to do better and I don’t see Buhari winning the 2019 elections”.

He said that he has confidence that the PDP presidential candidate will, if elected, provide the enabling environment for companies to come and do business in Nigeria.

Nwiyor, however, alleged that the All Progressives Congress –led federal government may not be planning to conduct free and fair elections next year but scheming to intimidate Nigerians and rig the electoral process, noting, that “Nigerians have grown beyond that” and that the APC would be disappointed because Nigerians would vote and will defend their votes, “if need be” in the 2019 general elections.

According to him, Alhaji Abubakar will win next year’s presidential elections if “proper” elections would be conducted by the country’s electoral umpire.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Wike Solidarity Movement (WSM), Prince Sudor Nwiyor, has commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for conducting very “free and fair” presidential primaries, which took place in Port-Harcourt on Saturday and Sunday, October 6th and 7th, 2018.

Nwiyor said that the outcome of the presidential primaries showed that the PDP practises internal democracy, adding that no presidential aspirant made any complaints over the conduct of the presidential primaries in which former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, won with a total of 1,532 votes.

The Director-General of the pro-Wike group said that the former Vice President’s victory in the PDP primaries meant that he had more support from the members of the party, saying that what is important now is for all the members of the PDP to work with the party’s presidential candidate to ensure that the party wins in the presidential election in 2019.

Nwiyor said: “Come 2019, PDP has to win the presidential election. That is what is important. All the PDP presidential aspirants were credible, they were all qualified but the people’s decision is that Atiku should become the flag-bearer of the party and that is what has happened”.
