Mrs Wakaego Chima, mother of two children who was hacked with machete allegedly by her husband at Omerelu, IKwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State last Monday for questioning him for bringing his female lover home is now battling for survival at the hospital, National Network learnt.
The elder brother to the victim, Anayo Warisi told our reporter that the condition of his sister is very critical.
Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State CP Eboka Friday has waded in and ordered that the case file be transferred from Elele Police Division to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt.
Warisi , in an earlier interview with our reporter said ” my sister’s husband brought in his female lover to the house and the wife started asking him why he would bring his female lover to the house, the two of them started beating her and the husband used machete to cut her all her body but that of the leg is more severe.
“My elder sister and brother took her to hospital at Elele, she was rejected. The hospital said the wound is much and they took her to UPTH.
“We want the husband arrested because it is a case of attempted murder”.
The Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police command, SP Grace Iringe Koko disclosed to our reporter that the female lover of the woman’s husband was arrested through the effort of CP Eboka Friday while efforts is on to arrest the woman’s husband.
