Rivers Award-Winning Governor, Wike Nominated For Double Awards
…Man of The Year, Best Nigeria’s Governor In Infrastructural Development
As the nominations for all the categories of awards by the foremost Port Harcourt-based tabloid and newspaper of the Year, National Network, to notable Nigerians, groups and corporate entities who have contributed meaningfully to humanity gradually wind up, the results of the opinion survey for the first category clearly show that Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has garnered more votes far ahead of others as both The Man of The Year and Best Nigeria’s Governor in Infrastructural development.
Predicated on diverse criteria which include political sophistication rooted in democratic tenets and quality leadership, commitment to socio-economic development of society amongst several other attributes, His Excellency, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike repeatedly featured in the two topmost categories, ostensibly outnumbering all other nominations put together to emerge the winner of the crown to be bestowed in the coming weeks.
A hint from the Editor-in-Chief and General Manager of the media organization, Chris Konkwo indicates that the full list of the months-long opinion survey for all the categories of awards will be published in subsequent editions before the ‘D-day’ with all the identities and addresses of the voters to prove that the exercise was not a flux.
Known for its meticulosity, National Network he said, had to choose its 18th anniversary celebration to showcase these men and women who have won the hearts of sections of the society to the beneficiaries themselves to confirm if truly they are the choices they made.
On why it has taken the grassroots newspaper three solid years after its last assessment which was in 2019, vis-à-vis other contemporaries that have made the event an annual ritual, the EIC/GM preferred to respond philosophically, saying, “if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and talks like a dock, perhaps it needs a little more time in the microwave to get what you want and this is exactly what National network has done.
‘This is the secret of the newspaper’s credibility, not just being the first to report but reporting it the way it is,” he noted.
The other categories for which nominees have also emerged include Woman of the Year Award, Best Local Government Council Chairman Award, Most Outstanding LG Council Chairman in Infrastructural Development Award, Most Outstanding LG Council Chairman in Peace and Security Award, Most Outstanding LG Council Chairman in Empowerment Award, Most Outstanding LG Council Chairman in Sports Development Award, Outstanding LG Council Vice Chairman Award, Best LG Councillor of the Year Award, Most Outstanding Senator Award, Most Outstanding House of Reps Member Award, Most Outstanding State Legislator (Bills Sponsorship) Award, Most Active State Parliamentarian (Constituency Projects) Award, Most Vibrant State Parliamentarian Award, Most Vibrant Politician, Best Media-Friendly Personality, Best Rector, Most Outstanding Administrator in Educational Management, Legendary Humanist amongst others.
The 18th National Network anniversary is billed for October 28, 2022.
