…As Apst. Chibuzor Marks 49th Birthday, 16th OPM’s Anniversary
For the umpteenth time the Omega Power Ministries (OPM) sent out another a batch of fifteen (15) beneficiaries of its overseas scholarship, Monday, September 19, to the famous Final International University, Cyprus.
The batch was the first of the over eighty (80) beneficiaries billed to be sent to Cyprus recently.
The remaining beneficiaries will be leaving for the overseas trip in subsequent batches of not fewer than fifteen at a time.
Recall that before the present batch, over 2000 students had been sent out to different European and America Universities by same OPM in the previous years.
Addressing the overseas bound beneficiaries shortly before jetting out, the General Overseer of OPM, Apostle Gift Chibuzor Chinyere who just arrived the country after being away for some time now, said the kind gesture was yet another step to mark his 49th birthday and 16 years anniversary of OPM which come up in November.
Buoyed by his desire for access to quality education to as many Nigerian children as he can possibly reach, Apst. Chibuzor said the target nonetheless was the less privileged among the lot.
He enjoined the highly elated Cyprus bound youngsters to be serious and committed to their studies to achieve success.
He also reminded the beneficiaries to always have it in their minds that the resources for their sponsorship were derived from the tithes and offerings of the church and should therefore not engage in anything that will not glorify God to avoid incurring His wrath.
Still in his quest to give more opportunities of quality education to many Nigerian children especially the indigent ones, the man of God who has won global acclaim for his generosity and unrivaled love for humanity announced his intention to build a world class university in Nigeria which access will not be limited to only the children of the rich.
Among the lucky beneficiaries was one physically challenged Chibuzo Uchendu from Imo State who was spotted by the OPM G.O., Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere through the social media where he served as a helper to masons.
Master Uchendu said he got incapacitated while participating in sporting activities in school years back which affected his education.
He said he had never dreamt of going back to school let alone traveling overseas for further studies until God remembered him through his vessel, Apst. Chibuzor whom he tearfully prayed God to bless bountifully.
In her ‘thank you’ speech on behalf of the parents of the beneficiaries, Mrs Florence Abuchi thanked and prayed for the OPM and its G.O., asking God to always provide and sustain him and the church, and to the students, God’s guidance, safe journey and abundant blessings.
The youngsters jetted out of the Port Harcourt International Airport at about 2.00 hours Nigerian time on Monday.
