Monarch Splashes Royal Blessings On Party Stalwarts
The Nyenwe-Eli/Paramount Ruler of Oginigba Kingdom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Gershom Bekwele Odum, recently poured his royal blessings on Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) members in Ward 6 of the local government, with a charge to them to jettison the old fashioned but pervading winner-takes-all brand of politics.
Eze Odum, who gave the charge during a courtesy call on him by the party members at his palace in Oginigba urged the PDP to always carry along the people of the various communities in the ward, the local government and the State at large irrespective of party affiliation.
While giving his royal blessings to the party members, the second class monarch expressed delight that they had deemed it necessary to visit him in spite of his health challenge before embarking on their electioneering campaign in his domain and wished them well.
Eze Odum, who spoke through his son, the Crown Prince of the community, Prince Allwell Chika Odum thanked the PDP members for the visit and paid glowing tributes to Governor Nyesom Wike for elevating the Oginigba community to a Kingdom as well as developing not only the community but also the local government and the State in general, saying, what is paramount at this critical moment is the development of the State, and urged PDP members to always embrace inclusive politics.
Eze Odum equally advised the party faithful to go about their campaigns peacefully and to eschew violence during the forthcoming elections, and stressed the need for them to always recognise and honour party leaders both past and present in Ward 6.
On his part, the leader of the delegation and Chairman of PDP campaign team in Ward 6, Surveyor Emmanuel Ogbondah had earlier eulogised Eze Odum in glowing terms and explained why the party members visited him, and sought for his royal blessings.
In the PDP delegation were former Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Hon Solomon Eke; and the Councillor representing Ward 6 in Obio/Akpor Legislative Assembly, Hon Loveth Onyinyechi Mgba; among other party leaders.
