…Insists Govt, Citizens Have Part To Play
Nigeria’s former Envoy to the Royal Dutch Kingdom of The Netherlands, His Excellency Chief Hon. Ambassador Oji Nyimenuate Ngofa, was on a global conference panel , Friday, 27th January, 2023 at the famous Ken Saro-Wiwa Memorial Center, located in Bane, the native home community of Late Ken Saro-Wiwa, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, South-South Nigeria.
Oji Ngofa, a mentee of the literary and poetic giant, Ken Saro-Wiwa, was a guest panelist at the 2023 edition of the Africa Content Creation Festival ACCF, hosted right at the footstool of the late Ogoni Sage, who was a pan-African, Creativist, Orator, Dramatist, Agitator, Statesman, and Icon of Minority Rights and True Democracy.
Ambassador Ngofa, a Linguist and Diplomat turned Politician, currently Rivers South-East Senatorial Candidate, during his presentation on the Panel, moderated by a young Ogoni Poet, Public Affairs Analyst, Media Influencer and Rights Champion, Dum Syl Aminikpo, said:
“Government and individuals must create the enabling environment to promote creativity”.
The Ambassador challenged Ogoni youths and all creativists in session at the Seminar, to be active participants in the issue of governance and politics, and not just leave the art of governance and politics in the hands of few politicians and greedy political actors.
Chief Oji Ngofa, who has always been passionately driven by the ideals and visions of late Ken Saro-Wiwa on academic excellence, reign of freedom, enlightenment and education of the young people, and development of creative talents in Ogoni and the Niger Delta, relayed part of his visions, which are perfectly in sync. with the ideals espoused by the late Ogoni Freedom Fighter, Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa.
He pledged to play fundamental roles to birth a robust and enabling environment for the development of Creative Artistry, and Tech. Advancement, if given the privilege by Rivers South-East electorates, to serve as Senator of the Federal Republic, representing Rivers South-East District via the instrumentality of the February 25th, 2023 elections.
The event was put together by Ogoni-born Media Czar, the Founder Ogoni TV, Mr. Ndume Green, and well attended by resource persons from within and outside Nigeria, including Global Rights and Environmental Activist, Akpobari Celestine and Hon. Naaku Birabi, amongst others.
