Dekor Mobilizes Contractors To Site As Bori-Kor-Kpong Unity Road Project Takes Off
As part of commitment to boost Infrastructural development in his constituency, the lawmaker representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Robinson Dekor has mobilized contractors to commence construction of the Bori-Kor-Kpong Unity Road project.
Addressing youths of the area at the site of the project on Thursday, last week, the federal lawmaker charged them to support contractors handling the project to ensure its speedy completion.
Rt. Hon Dekor appealed to the youths not to see the project as an avenue for quick monetary gain by imposing unnecessary encumbrances.
“This project is purely community service and not a contractor business where you impose matching ground and all kinds of stuff.
“I am telling you this because there is no such thing, and if you insist on making things difficult for the work to go smoothly, then the project will be taken to another place”, he said.
The federal lawmaker who is one time Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, described the Bori-Kor-Kpong Unity Road project which would be interlinked with a bridge, as novel, saying it would not only serve Ogonis of present generation but those unborn.
He said the best that youths of the area would do, is to ensure the success of the project so that history will celebrate their noble contribution.
Rt. Hon. Dekor, a former Commissioner of Works in Rivers State, praised Khana Local Government Council Chairman, Dr. Bariere Thomas for his untiring effort in ensuring the success of the project.
Also speaking, the Council Chairman urged the youths to regard themselves as stakeholders, adding that ‘everybody’s property is nobody’s property’.
“Therefore, my charge to those of you who love us is to come here, make it an everyday activity and see this project as your own. You will be our eyes here. There are many persons who are not happy with the project.
“You must come here and work with this people so that the project will be achieved on record time. We shall assist Rt. Hon. Dekor so that the objective will be achieved”, he said.
