Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Barr George Ariolu has on behalf of the people of the area, felicitated with His Majesty, Sir Ohna Serg Awuse Chidi, DSSRS, Nne-Nwe-Eli Emohua XIII (Olo IV), Paramount Ruler of Emohua Kingdom over his appointment as Pro-Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, Oyo State.
In his felicitations contained in a congratulatory message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ichenwo Goodluck, Ariolu described the new Pro-Chancellor as a true Nigerian worthy of emulation.
“I am confident that you will excel and ensure peace, prosperity and enhanced infrastructural development of the University that will be a citadel for our youths from all over the country,” Ariolu stated.
The Council Chairman urged the Monarch to use his position as the newly appointed Pro Chancellor to motivate more Nigerian youths to embrace tertiary education.
He also expressed satisfaction in the appointment and noted that the Ikwerre Ethnic group and entire Rivers State will be proud of him because he has made indelible marks and proved to be a worthy Ambassador of the kingdom and state at large.
Ariolu maintained that Ohna Awuse’s appointment is well deserved and a true reflection of his integrity, professionalism, tenacity and the trust the management and staff of the Institution placed in him.
“You have always committed to building human capacity in Rivers State and our beloved country Nigeria.”
“Your commitment to encouraging youths to embrace the education sector in the State is highly commendable,” he added
Similarly, the Council boss has also commended the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for entrusting such tasking and demanding position in the hands of Ohna Awuse whom he called a true Rivers man.
