Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Council, Hon Barr George Ariolu DSSRS, says a society can only progress when there is peace.The Council Chairman stated this when a delegation of St Jude’s Anglican Church, Oginigba, led by the president of Christian Men’s Fellowship, Mr Nyema Amadi paid him a courtesy visit at the Council Headquarters, Rumuodomaya.
The Council Boss lauded the Vicar of the church for their constant prayers for the Nation, State and the local Government, noting that his trust and belief in Almighty God is what has given him the understanding that prayer is the key to every thing.
He expressed the need for the church to constantly pray for Government at all levels, maintaining that he will continue to partner with the church.
He noted that under the watch of his administration, fourteen communities in Obio Akpor LGA held peaceful youth elections as a result of his firm resolve to resist any imposition of candidates in any of such elections, which he said has caused crisis in communities in the past.
For his part, the president of Christian Men’s Fellowship of St Jude’s Anglican Church Oginigba, Mr Nyema Amadi said they were in the council headquarter to thank him for his numerous supports to the church as well as to commend him for his human capacity development.
Earlier, a minute silence was observed in honor of Late Comr Amadi Chimenem Emmanuel Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of an award to the Council boss.
