President Tinubu Sacks PTAD Boss One Year After Re-Appointment
President Bola Tinubu has removed Dr. Chioma Ejikeme from her position as the Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).
The announcement, made on Monday, November 18, 2024, by PTAD’s spokesperson, Olugbenga Ajayi, did not provide details on the reasons for Dr. Ejikeme’s removal, which comes only 13 months after her reappointment for a second term.
Miss Odunaiya immediately assumed her new role and was officially welcomed by PTAD’s management and staff in Abuja.
In her first meeting with the team, she conveyed her dedication to continuing the legacy of her predecessors and fostering a culture of collaboration and unity within the agency.
She acknowledged the contributions of PTAD’s staff, recognizing their role in elevating the directorate to its current standing, and expressed her commitment to improving the lives of pensioners—whom she described as the backbone of the nation’s history and development.
Miss Odunaiya pledged to ensure that retirees receive the respect and timely benefits they deserve, emphasizing that their sacrifices should never be forgotten.
In her address, she highlighted the importance of aligning PTAD’s work with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
She assured staff that under her leadership, PTAD would prioritize efficiency, accountability, and compassion, aiming to build a prosperous Nigeria where every citizen, especially pensioners, feels valued and supported. After her meeting with the team, Miss Odunaiya conducted a tour of PTAD’s various departments and units, taking the opportunity to understand the agency’s operations and processes firsthand.
