CEAP 32nd Matriculation: Take Advantage Of Our Accomplishments To Build Yourselves For Better Future, Rector Tells New Students

As the fastest growing and rated captain of all the Polytechnics in the country today, the newly admitted students of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, Port Harcourt have been admonished to take advantage of the abundant human and material resources in the institution to prepare themselves for a successful and robust future.

The rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Samuel B. Kalagbor made the charge during the 32nd matriculation ceremony of the institution on Friday, April 20, 2023.

While administering the oath of allegiance and good behaviour on the students who have been admitted into the seven faculties of the polytechnic for the 2022/2023 academic year, Dr. Kalagbor disclosed that the polytechnic is now well positioned as all the programmes being offered by the institution have been accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

The rector, Dr. Samuel B. Kalagbor said the rare accomplishment by the polytechnic was due to the unrivaled commitment and encouragement of the State Governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike who, according to him has shown uncommon interest in seeing that Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic measured up to international standards.

While expressing the appreciation of the Management, Staff and students of the institution to His Excellency, Dr. Kalagbor noted that the institution has leveraged on the opportunity to procure the necessary facilities and quality staff to sustain the standard and enable the students excel accordingly.

The rector also acknowledged a robust financial intervention from TETFUND to the polytechnic.

Reassuring the newly admitted students of the Polytechnic’s resolve that no stone is left unturned to ensure that their products become the best in their various fields on graduation, Dr. Kalagbor invited all the stakeholders-students, academic and non-academic staff, and parents to do their part and make the collective goal achievable.

The polytechnic, he stressed, has zero tolerance for any form of misconduct including examination malpractices, cultism, unruly and violent behaviour, indecent dressing, drug addiction, armed robbery, prostitution, stealing, hooliganism, arson and willful destruction of the polytechnic property, among others.

“The polytechnic also takes exception to extortion by staff in whatever form, including illegal selling of handouts/unapproved books, and or selling above official price for approved books”, the rector declared.

The rector, Dr. Kalagbor therefore warned the students and staff alike to shun all these forms of deviant behaviour and other vices, as the Polytechnic will not hesitate to sanction, expel and rusticate anybody involved in the act(s).

A total of 2,695 students matriculated at the ceremony.
