Obio/Akpor Indegens, Residents To Enjoy Health Insurance Scheme
The chairman of Obio / Akpor Local Government Council Hon. Solomon Abel Eke, said he has put on ground a cardinal programme to ensure that all the Indegens and residents in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area enjoy improved quality health facilities.
He dropped the hint during a press conference to mark his one year in office.
He said that as part of his committment to provide quality health care to his people he has introduced a Health Insurance Scheme through selected health institutions in the area.
He informed that the Scheme is necessitated by the need to eliminate incidences where pregnant women lose their lives because of poor health attention while reducing child mortality in the 21st century.
Hon. Eke. Who Chronicled his achievements in the last one year, disclosed his plans to massively renovate dilapidated structures in the primary schools in Obio/Akpor.
On Internally Generated Revenue he disclosed that he has digitalised the revenue structures regretting that touting has been a problem in tapping the robust revenue and advised the public to make all their payments through the designated banks.
The council boss also disclosed that the council has established Obio/Akpor rapid response team to collaborate with the State’s Neighbourhood watch and other sister agencies in fighting insecurity adding that it has also engaged the services of Onelga Security Peace and Advisory Council (OSPAC).
