FCN, Omoku Re-Positions, Elects New Officers
One of the leading philanthropic and Social organisations based in Omoku, Rivers State, Foundation Club of Nigeria , Omoku has been rejuvenated and refocused to regain its lost glory with the emergence of a former councilor in ONELGA, and currently the Head of Department Accounting Education, Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku, Dr Ahiauzu Levi Uche as its new National President and the Director, Centre for Educational Technology (CET) ,Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku, Emmanuel Nana Chu as the vice president.
Other members of the new executive are MrObi Akanu (General Secretary), the director, Fradan Hotels, Omoku, Mr Ifeanyi Wilson (Treasurer), Mr Anthony Amadike (Financial Secretary), Mr Amaechi Okpa (Internal Auditor), Mr Loveday Wilson (PRO/Social Organising Officer) and Chief Emeka Oni (Provost/Assistant Social Organising Officer).
Speaking while administering oath of office on the new FCN executive on Sunday 12th July, at Omoku, a justice of the peace in the State and PRO, Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, charged them to ensure the FCN Omoku which was one of the darling social clubs in ONELGA be properly repositioned as to restore its lost glory and described members of the new EXCO as men tried, trusted and found worthy.
Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, a former National President of the club also tasked the new Exco to imbibe the good virtues of accountability, transparency and welfare of members and used the ceremony to call on the Federal and Rivers State Governments to come to the aid of ONELGA people by working on the deplorable Omoku-Egbema road, Kriegani, Egbada and other abandoned Roads in the area as the roads are now death traps.
He Congratulated the immediate past chairman of PDP in Rivers State, Bro. Felix Amaechi Obuah, for successfully and peacefully completing his tenure and urged him to be prepared as Almighty God has kept something good for him in no distant time.
In his acceptance speech on behalf of the new executive, the president, Dr Levi Ahiauzu who was also a one time National President of the club thanked the members for the honour done them and promised to revamp the club and restore its dignity so as to attract more members and used the ceremony to appeal to the Federal Government to reconsider its suspension of Re-opening of schools, as according to the Educationist, Schools at all level should re-open while government find better ways to protect the health of teachers, students, pupils and indeed all Nigerians by preventing the escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
