Barr Agumagu Lauds Gov Wike Over His Developmental Stride In Rivers
A legal luminary in Rivers State, Chief, Barr (Mrs) Comfort Uche Agumagu has commended Governor Nyesom Wike for his developmental strides in the state, describing his uncommon passion for the state, zeal and political will in governance as unprecedented.
Speaking with newsmen over the weekend at the flag-off of the Nigerian Law School, Port Harcourt Campus, she said the campus when completed will not only provide job opportunities for the youths but also improve the socio-economic status of the state.
Mrs. Agumagu said the vision and proactive stance of Gov Wike in attracting developmental projects to the state needs to be emulated by other politicians.
She also lauded President Muhammadu Buhari, the Attorney-General of the Federation & Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami and members of the Council For Legal Education for their uncommon speed in granting the approval of the request for the project.
“Imagine setting up of this project within one year with a lot of facilities, preparing and giving out the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to the FG as well as a 4-year up front subvention of about N480 million for the running and maintenance of the “Dr Nabo Graham-Douglas Port Harcourt Campus of the Nigerian law School”.
Barr (Mrs) Agumagu equally congratulated the current Chief Judge of Rivers state, Hon Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi over his recent appointment by the governor, describing the appointment as a round peg in a round hole.
She maintained that as a no-nonsense and experienced judge, she has no doubt that the State Chief Judge will not betray the confidence reposed in him.
Barr. Agumagu urged all to give him their maximum support.
Mrs. Agumagu also congratulated the Mayor of Port Harcourt, Hon. Sir Allwell Ihundah for his election and eventual swearing-in by the governor, and urged him to be strong, fair and firm in the discharge of his duties, adding that with their collective prayers and support, the Mayor would make a big difference at the PHALGA Council.
“I know that with his wealth of experience and maturity, the people of PHALGA will rejoice at the end of his tenure. All he needs is encouragement,” she said.
