Oba Of Ogbaland Commends Rivers NUJ, OTC For Peaceful Elections
The Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland, His Eminence, Oba Nwachuku Obuoha Nnam-Obi III, Mnipr has commended members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Rivers State Council for coming together to elect a new executive despite little hiccups they experienced before the election.
The Ogba monarch in a statement by his media aide, Prince Charles C. Amadike-Otoboh, JP also congratulated the new executive of the union led by Mr. Stanley Job who was re-elected for a 2nd term and urged them to note that to whom much is given much more is expected.
The 12th Oba Eze Ogba further told the new NUJ exco to be magnanimous in victory by operating an inclusive government and also advised the losers of the election to accept their defeat in good faith and support those elected as to move the union more united and forward as tomorrow is another day.
The Ogba monarch a Legal Practitioner and member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in a press statement signed by the media officer Oba’s palace Omoku, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, JP (Mmboh Krikri) called on some Elders of the union such as Chief Bobo Brown, Chief Wofuru Oparaolu, Pastor Jerry Needam, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke, Mr. Vincent Ochonma, High Chief Monday Wehere, Mr. Goodluck Ukwe, Sir Ngo Martyns yellowe, Celestine Ogolo, Chief Enerst Chinwo, Dike Onyije among others, to wade-in and ensure NUJ in Rivers State has no crack as a house divided by itself does not stand.
Oba Nwachuku Obuoha Nnam Obi III, who appreciated the robbust relationship between Journalists in Rivers State and the Oba’s Palace, Omoku which dated back during the reign of his predecessor (his father) His Eminence, Sir (Dr.) Chukumela Nnam Obi II, OON, DSSRS, AP, JP sincerely promised to sustain the gesture and assured members of the pen Profession that his palace is always open for them whenever they needed his attention.
In a related development, Oba Nwachuku Obuoha Nnam-Obi III has congratulated the newly elected executive members of an Omoku Apex Club, the Omoku Town Club (OTC) led by a former Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ahoada and Omoku Branches, Barr. C.U. Amadike and commended the out gone Exco of the club led by Sir Harcourt Ichoku, JP.
He urged the newly elected OTC Management Committee to emulate the founding father of the club by focusing on the peace, unity, development and oneness of Omoku Communities instead of doing the opposite.
