Christians Admonished To Be Patient In Life

Christians have been advised to form the habit of being patient in all their undertakings in order to achieve what God prepared for them.

According to Pastor Jerry Agu of the God’s Sabbath Mission, PH Synagogue, Rumuekwurushi in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State “by grace through faith, we were saved and it is only when we diligently and patiently wait on the Lord that we would conquer,” he said.

In his sermon, the resident pastor recalled (in Genesis 21) how Abraham and Sarah his wife patiently waited on the Lord and were blessed thereafter with an only son Isaac at the appointed time of God even when they had lost hope of such blessing. He also spoke on how father Abraham passed the examination of trying to sacrifice their only son by patiently and obediently trusting God on the assignment, eventually passed and got the benefits thereof.

He made it known that God actually reciprocate to us his followers, the same way we trust, obey and work for Him as faith without work is useless.

“Abraham worked for God patiently and earn His blessings, even against his wish, Abrahan was willing to sacrifice his only son Isaac to please God”. (Gen 22:11).

The man of God stated categorically that though God created the rich and the poor, that not everybody is destined to be wealthy, which he noted, explains why some persons are unable to make use of good opportunities thrusted on them.

Pastor Agu equally recalled another dimension of patience where Jacob in the Bible patiently worked for seven additional years to have his heartthrob Racheal as a wife after being deceived with her elder sister Leah, as a wife.

He declared that with the patience as exhibited by Jacob, one would achieve his/her God given destiny with ease.

Highlights of the church service were testimonies, intercessory/deliverance prayer session and prophesies for the new year.
