In a bid to realize his senatorial ambition, Hon. Elemchukwu Ogbowu and his campaign team stormed Akuku Toru and Degema Local Government Areas over the weekend, soliciting the support of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates during the Rivers West Senatorial District primary election.

Hon. Ogbowu reiterated that considering the almost unbearable poverty situation of the people, in the midst of plenty, he decided to take up the mantle of good representation so as to bring development to the area, adding that he has the ability and capacity to bring peace, joy and harmony to the area.

The Rivers West Senatorial District aspirant said if voted into power, human capacity development and the Trans-Kalabari road will be top priority, saying he is vehement in his desire to raise his people from a position of lack to a position of prosperity.

Hon. Ogbowu made it clear that there is no place like Rivers West Senatorial district in the country, saying that the senatorial district is the richest in oil and gas in Nigeria, as such needs urgent attention in terms of development.

Looking at his antecedent, he said that he has what it takes to drag development to the area, citing how he was able to secure employment for some youths into Agip Oil Company, as the then Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum and Environment in the Rivers State House of Assembly, as a Commissioner of Commerce and Industry and also as Commissioner of Transport in the State.

He appealed to the delegates to vote for him and forget about subtle politicians who would only use them to get to office and abandon them thereafter.

Hon. Ogbowu asserted that effective legislation at the level of the Senate is required to consolidate the great strides of Governor Nyesom Wike’s administration, stressing that the senatorial district is the economic heart-beat of the country that can create jobs and spread prosperity, while warning  against pipeline vandalization, kidnapping and other social vices.

He, however, reminded the youths that the analog era has gone and that they are now in digital age, as such they need to flow with the tide.

Hon. Tonye Tyger, the Chairman of PDP Delga and his counterpart from Akulga, Hon. Ere Manuel, in their separate speeches, assured Hon. Ogbowu that all those that matter in the area were already behind him as he is their son and that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring that he succeeds as representatives of Rivers West Senatorial Seat come 2019.
