Kenjika Not On PDP Paylist – PDP Spokesman

The Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Hon. Darlington Orji (JP), has denied allegation that Kenjika Jonathan, aka ‘Schoolboy’ is on the paylist of the party.

Kenjika Jonathan is the crime kingpin, who allegedly carried out an attack on PDP members in Ipo Community, in Ikwerre Local Government Area recently, by opening fire on them as they were gathered for a PDP sensitization rally for collection of permanent voters’ cards.

Hon. Orji, who reacted to the allegation, which was made by a member of the opposition, the All Progressives Congress in Ikwerre Local Government Area duting a live radio programme in Port-Harcourt on Monday, said that the PDP in Ikwerre Local Government Area, and the State at large, has nothing to do with criminals.

He said: “We do not have business with any criminal and crime in Ikwerre Local Government Area. The government of Rivers State and Ikwerre Local Government in particular, have done so well in making sure that people could return to farm”.

The PDP Publicity Secretary noted that the crime kingpin, accused of carrying out the attack is on the list of wanted criminals by the Rivers State Government and appealed to security agents in the local government area to ensure that he is fished out and arrested.

He expressed concern that criminals in the local government area, who were earlier arrested were later released.

He said that the attack allegedly sponsored by members of the All Progressives Congress in the local government area was meant to “cow PDP people” so that when they are invited for any political event “they will not come out”.

The PDP Publicity Secretary said: “This was an orchestrated attempt to cow PDP supporters and the leadership of the party in the local government area from attending any political function but it is unfortunate because the number of PDP men and women in Rivers State, how many will you kill, how many will you leave”.

He stated that the people of the State will vote massively for the re-election of Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, because of his achievements in the State in his current first term.

He appealed to members of the opposition APC in Rivers State to avoid violence in the forthcoming 2019 General Elections and allow the people of the State to vote for candidates of their choice in the forthcoming elections.

The PDP Publicity Secretary further appealed to politicians of different political parties in the State to have their campaigns based on issues and avoid hate speech in the campaigns leading to next year’s general elections.
