ADC Senatorial Candidate Drums Support For Atiku Abubakar

The Senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Party for Rivers East Senatorial District,  Hon. Clay Nduka Ogbonna has urged his supporters and indeed Rivers people to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the forthcoming general election for Nigeria’s rescue mission.

Speaking during the campaign flag-off of the ADC in Port Harcourt, Hon. Ogbonna said the directives was as a result of the decision of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) which his party was a member to adopt Atiku as their presidential candidate.

Hon. Ogbonna also used the opportunity to remind the mammoth crowd of the need to vote him into power as the Senator representing the Senatorial Zone, assuring them of quality representation at the red chambers.

He made it clear that ADC as the third largest political party in the country after the PDP and APC is poised to snatch power and restore the dignity of the Country which he noted has been bastardized.

He noted that the ideology of the ADC is what stands it out as its winning strength, explaining that Nigerians are yearning for alternative platform to rescue them from the clutches of poverty and insecurity.

The Senatorial candidate equally used the chance to appeal to his supporters and members of his party to ensure that they come out en masse and vote and as well ensure that their votes count in the forthcoming election.

On the conduct of the election, Hon. Ogbonna also advised the electoral umpire, INEC to ensure the conduct of a peaceful and credible election to save the country’s democracy.

He equally advise the security agencies to as much as possible be neutral and professional in their duties of protecting life and property. “They should remain Non-partisan or not to be seen as giving undue advantage to any political party win the election”.

In his remarks at the event shortly before presenting the party’s flag of authority to the party candidates, the Rivers State ADC chairman, Dr. Kalada Irunabere reiterated the party’s decision not only to adopt Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the PDP as its presidential candidate but also to ensure an issue based electioneering campaigns and violence free elections.

He made it clear that peaceful co-existence is pivot in their manifesto as peace, he noted, is panacea to development.

Dr. Irunabere stated further that his party’s administration will make the protection of lives and property its major responsibility unlike what he said is obtained in the current APC-led federal government where its priority attention is on herdsmen and the protection of their animals.

The chairman used the opportunity to urge his party supporters to use their PVCs to vote out the APC government in the interest of the country.
