Rivers APC Crisis: Fmr. Deputy Speaker, Chibudom Nwuche Opens Up
…Commends Senator Abe For His Courage In Fighting For Justice
A former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, has joined in vilifying the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State for being responsible for the collapse of the APC in the State.
According to the Prince of Ekpeye land, the APC was mired in intra- party crisis by the wizardry, megalomania, selfishness and the desire of one man to play God over other mortals.
Hon. Nwuche said to blame Magnus Abe or Gov Nyesom Wike is to play the ostrich, and goes against the body of verifiable evidence as to the causes of the Rivers State APC crisis.
Describing the crises as self inflicted with the initial attempt to remove leaders they felt they couldn’t control, and installation of subordinates to undermine such leaders to the well documented victimisation of such leaders by denying them economic activity and cancellation of projects of companies affiliated with them, not minding the fact that these companies and businesses employ Rivers sons and daughters. Saying that he had never witnessed such WICKEDNESS in all his long years of being involved in national politics. He described this attitude as part of the reasons the Niger delta region is under developed both in terms of human capacity and infrastructure.
Hon. Nwuche commended Senator Magnus Abe, representing Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly for his courage in fighting for justice and internal party democracy, and wished him well in the upcoming court cases, and urged party members to always stand for justice and what is right in spite of the deprivation and also sacrifices, maintaining that nothing lasts forever.
He urged party members not to allow the noble art of Politics to degenerate to personal abuses, name calling, persecution of each other and general wizardry, saying that they should rather focus on ideas that can uplift the society and party members and other Rivers people. He said party members will not present quarrels and the numbers of people they were able to pull down to the masses as achievement during elections.
While describing himself as an elder statesman and stakeholder in the Rivers project, he pledged to provide mentorship for aspiring leaders and to always stand for justice and for the best interest of Rivers state.
He urged Abe to always have the best interest of Rivers state as his driving principle, and to seek to empower its citizenry, build human capacity.
Hon. Nwuche also urged party members to always stand up for each other in the face of oppression and victimisation, and not to stand by and idly watch as injustice if unchecked will eventually get round to every member.
He said, “It was the turn of others yesterday, and today it’s the turn of Magnus Abe for venturing to run for Governor. No one knows whose turn it will be tomorrow.”
