Rivers Decide: Sara Igbe Led APC  Hoodlums Disrupt Traffic, Cause  Accident

Despite the ban on protests by the Rivers State Government, All Progressives Congress (APC) hoodlums led by Mr. Sara Anabs Igbe threw caution to the wind and attempted to force their way into Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) office along Aba Road during the collation of the Governorship election results on Tuesday.

In a show of rascality, the ageing Kalabari born Igbe led the thugs, reportedly hired all the way from Edo State, as they marched from the popular Air Force junction heading to INEC office but on sighting the stern looking police officers who cordoned off all the access way to INEC, took to their heels, disappearing through Hotel Presidential road.

The police however in trying to disperse the thugs, fired into the air, which resulted into serious commotion, with people who were going about their normal business, for fear of being shot by stray bullets, scampered for safety.

The entire axis of GRA was thrown into commotion as both the hoodlums and passers-by engaged in free for all race which resulted to multiple accidents.

Speaking to National Network, one of victims of the commotion who spoke on condition of anonymity, condemned the APC hoodlums for causing a breach of peace in the State, wondering why a political party which was not in the ballot in the first place would want to disrupt the process.

“I wonder why people would want to stop INEC from collating electoral results when every other state in the country has completed their own elections”, he said.

The commotion victim, who maintained that the only way to maintain normalcy in the State is to complete the electoral process, queried the desperation being displayed by the Rotimi Amaechi-led APC, especially after having failed to stop the process through the court.
