Obio/Akpor Former Councillors, Supervisors Happy With Wike’s Reelection – Utchay

The Chairman of the Forum of former Councillors and Supervisors, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief (Hon.) Hope Utchay, has said that members of the forum are happy with the reelection of Governor Nyesom Wike as governor of Rivers State in the 2019 General Elections.

Utchay who said this in an interview, stated that the former Councillors and Supervisors in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, are happy that God made it possible for Wike to win reelection in the state.

He said that members of the forum of former Councillors and Supervisors in the local government area, supported Governor Wike and faced threats in the period of the election, disclosing that he himself was trailed by soldiers, who he alleged also blocked his gate because he supported Governor Wike in his reelection bid.

He said that Wike deserved his victory because he worked hard for the development of the state.

Utchay used the occasion to appeal to Governor Wike to empower the people of the state in his second term.

He said: “He has been doing projects in the state and he should continue but he should also look into the people, his supporters, and I know Wike listens when people speak”.

He thanked the youths, women and traditional rulers in the state for supporting Wike throughout the period of the election.

He, however, faulted the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, for actions he, allegedly, took against the people of the state, saying that the Minister’s actions did not show him as one who is from Rivers State.

He expressed sadness over the lives that were lost in the election and appealed to Governor Wike to remember the families of those who lost their loved ones.

He assured him that the forum of former Councillors and Supervisors in Obio/Akpor local government area will continue to support him and his administration throughout his second term.
