APC Chieftain Lauds Gov Wike Over Re-election

Hon. Alwell Onyesoh a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has lauded Governor Wike for emerging victorious in the just concluded governorship election in the State.

Fielding questions from newsmen during a coronation ceremony at the palace of HRH King Dr. Samuel Amaechi,  Onye Ishi Agwuru Igbo Kingdom Etche, Hon Onyesoh  described Gov. Wike’s victory as well deserved, urging all to give the necessary support to him to succeed.

The former Chairman of the Rivers State Post Primary School Board under Governor Rotimi Amaechi whose speech was intermittently punctuated by loud ovation from his teeming supporters maintained that Governor Wike has done well and deserved the victory.  “His victory was neat and square nobody would have been able to defeat him in Rivers State because of the numerous projects he has embarked upon which endeared him to the heart of the people”, the APC chieftain declared.

On whether he was ready to join the Governor following the olive branch extended to the opposition in the state, he said he had always worked for the interest of the Rivers State and the issue of joining or not joining does not arise.

The Etche born politician however denied that there are factions in Rivers APC, insisting that he belongs to the only recognized APC in Rivers State led by Peter Odike.

On the coronation, he described Eze Godwin Onyechi Amadi, Onye Ishi ala of Umuayagu Community as the best royal father in Etche, pointing out that he has contributed to the development of the area economically, traditionally and culturally.

According to him, he has occupied the stool for a very long time which has made him one of the oldest Ochimba in Etche.

He however advised the Eze to work to ensure peace reigns supreme in his kingdom.
