Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in ward 12, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area have commended Governor Nyesom Wike on his election victory and the subsequent issuance of certificate of return. They also attributed the huge success achieved during the election to God Almighty.
They made the declaration on the occasion of the party’s thanksgiving service at Rumuoigbo ward 12. Although the weeklong celebration started on Sunday April 21, 2019 at the Rumuigbo Anglican Church. The occasion which played host to galaxy of eminent persons in ward 12 and beyond was sponsored by Hon. Bright Amaehule, the GDI coordinator an illustrious son of Rumuigbo.
Speaking on the sideline of the celebration, Eze Ekwesi I of Rumuigbo kingdom said the members of the party in ward 12 are thanking God for protecting their lives during the last election in the state.
He said members of PDP ward 12 suffered brutality in the hands of the military masterminded by anti-democratic elements to scuttle the election.
The former chairman of Okinigbo also revealed that some men in uniform numbering about seven threatened to shoot him and other prominent members of the party in the area but they were delivered by God.
He enjoined all members of PDP in Ward 12 to unite so as to move the area forward and assured them of more appointments and development this time around.
He advised the opposition parties to bury their differences and accept the olive branch extended to them by the Gov Wike and also condoled with all those that lost their loved ones during, before and after the election, praying God to give them the fortitude to bear the loses.
